Sketch!
Fulcrum Point board member and ensemble artist James Sanders has released Sketch!, an experimental video featuring dancers Shelby Moran Amarantos and Joe Musiel of the Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre. The music is a duet between drummer Avreeayl Ra and James Sanders. James writes that:
"The music for Sketch! is primarily improvisational, based on a few simple melodic motifs written for the violin. I met Avreeayl in the studio where we recorded this together. His drumming is entirely improvised, reacting to the violin part in real time as I played it. Likewise, Avreeayl’s drumming shaped my improvisations.The idea behind this sparse and intimate musical setting was to create a space for the dancers to create a narrative."
