Fulcrum Point Discoveries
Michael and Jessie

Hear and have your opinions heard at our informal concert/conversation/cocktail event featuring new works by emerging American composers, performed by Chicago’s best musicians. Enjoy new music and the composers’ insights via Skype and share your own feelings and opinions in discussions with these great artists—then hear those ideas implemented. How cool is that! Chat up the artists and composers over drinks and refreshments both in person and virtually.

 The Program:

“I wouldn’t eat the strawberries…”
by Michael Boyd
“Voodoo Dolz” by Jessie Montgomery
from the Black Composer Project

What is the Fulcrum Point Discoveries?
Fulcrum Point Discoveries is a monthly series that presents new music by young and emerging American composers in a free public setting. These concerts offer audiences an opportunity to discover composers’ inner inspiration and creative processes, while composers have the chance to hear their music interpreted by Chicago’s best musicians and to explore their work in dialogue with a community of passionate performers, fans, and other composers.
